Summary[edit]

Description
English: The Cascade and Wilderness Garden, Shibden Park The cascade, consisting of a stream flowing over a tumble of large millstone grit blocks, was constructed in 1836 by William Gray as part of a wider landscaping scheme for Anne Lister. The stream is fed from a feeder pond in Cunnery Wood on the opposite side of Shibden Hall Road, running in a culvert beneath the dry tunnel under the road, part of which can be seen above the cascade. The wilderness garden and the cascade were restored as part of the Shibden Park Restoration Project, completed in 2008.
