Davidson added greatly tothe programme when he gave an in-teresting illustrated lecture on derma-tology. Then, as a special treat, heshowed us a few of his own lovely col-oured scenes from Scotland. The Winnipeg General HospitalSchool of Nursing Glee Club made adelightful contribution of songs to theFriday afternoon session and increasedour appreciation of the need for andvalue of extra-curricular activities inthe undergraduate period. On Saturdaymorning we added a new feature toour programme in the form of a RoundTable conference. Mimeographed co-pies of the questions to be discussed werecirculated throughout the audience.Members were invited to contributefrom the floor but were limited to two-minute periods in order to increase theopportunity for variety of opinion. De-bate was very active, every minute be-ing utilized. VOL. XXXV, No. 6

The banquet, presided over by MissEmily Parker, was attended by 225people. Honour guests included MissGrace Fairley, President of the Cana-dian Nurses Association, Miss Kather-ine Densford, Dr. Sidney Smith, Presi-dent of the University, Dr. D, S.Woods, Dean of Education, Dr. A. T,Mathers, Dean of Medicine and Dr.G, F. Stephens. Solos and readingswere contributed by guest artists, whilean orchestra added refreshing lightertouches to a gala occasion. Miss Dens-ford, as guest speaker, reminded us thatother professions have long since availedthemselves of those facilities within theUniversity which, just around thecorner await utilization by the nurs-ing profession and that m nurse educa-tion we stand in need of what the Uni-versity can provide in the developmentof the woman as well as the nurse.
