had produced chairs, tables, blackboard, a desk with a blotteron it, a bed and bureau, miniature copiesof The Ca7iadian Nurse and other littlearticles. The paper house for the publichealth group came, at the eleventh hour, from a boy who is a patient in the Pavi-lion for the treatment of children withprimary tuberculosis. Finally, the evening for inspection ar-rived; the figures were assembled andall was in readiness. Several of the staffnurses were looking the exhibit over, and one exclaimed, Something is miss-ing. What is it? Why, of course, thereare not enough people around the pub-lic health nurse. Whereupon shedashed out of the room and I heard herasking an interne in the corridor forsome pipe-cleaners. By eight oclock, shehad contrived a lame father leaning ona cane, a pair of rachitic twins, and twoor three other children. At last all the groups seemed as com-plete as we could make them. Text Appearing After Image:
a patient of rather ghastly appearance, holding a copy of The Canadmn Nurseunder her arm. In the nursing educationgroup, the instructress (with one grayhair) stands before her blackboard lec-turing to six little students, some ofwhom are sitting in a very poor posturein their chairs and I believe one may dis-cern on one face a distinctly sleepy ex-pression. The public health nurse ap-proaches a scene of social chaos in frontof what appears to be a tumble-downshack. Mother, in a gay print dress, hasa mischievous child across her knee readyto spank. Father is approaching, leaningheavily on his cane. One twin is climbingthe fence, another is falling out of thewindow, and yet two more children, one with knock-knees and the otherwith bowed legs, appear around thecorner of the house. At last the great day of the AnnualMeeting; arrived and the exhibit was placed in position on bridge tables in analcove which everyone had to pass inorder to reach the room in which thesessions were being held.
