Summary[edit]

Description
English: The Burdett-Coutts sundial, St Pancras The sundial in its entirety, recently restored. It holds the names of many notable people whose remains were disturbed by the building of the railway. Quite a number are the French emigres: the church is said to have been the last in England to abandon Roman Catholic rites after the Reformation and in consequence many French people settled in the vicinity. At the base of its protective fence there is a memorial to 'the English Bach', Johann Christian, composer and son of Johann Sebastian. The colours are derived from the different types of stone from which it is built.
