Thewindows were not quite so pointed and the carvings not quiteso deep. A ball-ornament when used is characteristic. Thefoliage is no longer stiff-leafed, but beautifully curved andentwined. IV. THE PERPENDICULAR. This manner of building is purely English and is limitedto England. It is easily identified when seen. The mullionsof the windows run in vertical lines the entire length.
