Text Appearing Before Image:
tration of a menu card was made bytrimming the background of the print in the shape of a rect-angular panel, allowing a few petals to trail outside. Thephotograph was then mounted on a gray card, and a simpleconventional design drawn with India ink and a draughtsmansruling pen. The spaces between the lines were then filled inwith a wash of green water color. Such a design may easilybe reproduced by the half-tone process, or if a photographerwishes to do the work himself, the whole design, print andall, can be photographed, that is, copied with a large camera, and any number of prints desired can then be made from the one negative. While my main theme in this artic.e has been greenhousephotography, the application of greenhouse photographs todecoration shows another phase of the work. Most photog-raphers who accumulate a large collection of plates, in courseof time like to put them to some decorative or practical use,and in no case is this more applicable than in flower photog-raphy. 24
