Text Appearing Before Image:
Three hundredand eight treesalong KingsHighway Park-way, St. Louis, are decoratedwith these stars. Each star standsfrr a soldier orsailor who diedin active service LIKE a rare orchid, sentiment flour-r ishes only under the right condi-tions. When The American Legionarranged Arbor Day exercises in St.Louis, Missouri, the note sounded wasfelicitous. Golden stars, each bearing the nameof a soldier or a sailor who died in ac-tive service, were placed on the 308sweet gum, European sycamore andgreen oak trees which were plantedalong Kings Highway Parkway. Years from now when these saplingshave grown into wide-branched trees, stretching their leafy boughs from eachside of the parkway, stories will stillbe told of the ceremonies which theLegion arranged. Many of the moth-ers of the heroes the trees commemo-rate witnessed the ceremonies. Judge Landis Hands Down a Decision
