Description

The 40 million Mark postcard. Potsdam November 1923 sent from Halberstadt This postal rate only lasted for FOUR DAYS. also for a local letter. A distant letter cost 100m RM <a href="https://www.infla-berlin.de/14_Inflationsbelege/PP22.php" rel="noreferrer nofollow">www.infla-berlin.de/14_Inflationsbelege/PP22.php</a>

On November 5, the postcard rate went up to 500m Reichsmarks. The final rate at the end of November was 40 Milliarden [billion] RM

i.e. a thousand fold increase during the month. On december 1, there was only a subtle increase to 50 billion RM for postcards, 100 billion for lettrers equating to the new currence of 5 and 10 Rentenpfennige.
