Description
Deutsch: Tetrapodentrittsiegel auf einer Schichtunterseite des Tambach-Sandsteins in den Steinbrüchen am Bromacker nahe Tambach-Dietharz. Das Spurenfossil auf der rechten Bildhälfte gehört zur Spurengattung Ichniotherium, die wahrscheinlich von reptilienähnlichen basalen Tetrapoden („Ursaurier“) aus der Familie Diadectidae verursacht wurden.[1] Neben den Trittsiegeln, die als konvexes Hyporelief vorliegen, sind auf dem Foto Trockenrissfüllungen und verschiedene andere Spurenfossilien zu erkennen.
English: Casts of tetrapod footprints on the lower surface of a layer of the Tambach Sandstone exhibited at the Bromacker quarries at the outskirts of Tambach-Dietharz, Thuringia, Germany. The footprint in the right half of the image belongs to the ichnogenus Ichniotherium which probably was made by a reptile-like basal tetrapod of the family Diadectidae[1]. Besides the footprints the image shows casts of mudcracks and several other trace fossils.
