Les Japonais ne s'occupent que de la protection de leur lignes de communication et de l'approvisionnement de leur troupes notamment en riz et matériel de guerre. Hô Chi Minh reçoit à titre de présent les stocks d'armes dérobés aux Français et carte blanche pour prendre le contrôle du Nord de l'Indochine, "zone affranchie". Cette pénétration est favorisée par la carence du pouvoir mis en place par Bảo Đại. De plus, aux yeux des Alliés, le Viêt-Minh remplace les services de renseignements de la Résistance française qui a été décimé par les Japonais. A partir du coup de force, les bombardements américains, déjà très importants, s'intensifient sur l'Indochine. 12 MARS 1945 : Directive du Parti Communiste Indochinois appelant à l'Indépendance par l'insurrection générale, le moment venu. 12 MARS 1945 : «Bientôt notre drapeau flottera sur Hà Nội, Hué et Sài-Gòn, libres comme à Strasbourg et à Metz» déclare M. Giaccobi, Ministre des Colonies devant l'Assemblée Consultative. «La restauration de la France dans son Indépendance et dans son intégrité passe par la récupération de l'Indochine». |
