Description
English: The Guatemalan tamales are made with corn maize flour, pork fat, a thick sauce called "recado" made of tomato, achiote and other Mayan spices and sweet chilies, 1 caper, 1 olive and 1 piece of Bell Pepper as decorations, and also a piece of meat usually pork, chicken or turkey, on Christmas you can find 2 raisins and 1 Prune on your tamal as additional decor. All of this ingredients are cooked in plantain leaves and "mashan" leaves, wrapped with a rope made of a plant stem called "cibaque".
