English: The Technology Opportunities Showcase (TOPS) featured NASA Langley technology innovations available to industry for licensing and commercialization. The three-day event, held at NASA's Langley Research Center October 19-21, 1993, highlighted NASA's multiple use technology as a cornerstone in strengthening U.S. competitiveness in the world marketplace. Under the Clinton administration's new direction to place government in a pivotal role to help industry, non-aerospace companies, small and minority businesses as well as universities are encouraged to market products derived from Federal lab innovations. More than 160 exhibits featured advanced research and technology in high-speed aeronautics, subsonics and hypersonics, high-performance aircraft, large-scale computing, atmospherics, space transport and spacecraft.
