Summary[edit]

Description
English: The Tennessee Aquarium in Chattanooga sprang from an effort to save the city that was basically dying. University of Tennessee students brainstormed the idea that was developed and became a reality in 1992. It was part of an urban revitalization plan using the Tennessee River as a backdrop. With more than 1-million gallons of aquarium tanks and about 800 species of animals on display, the facility is considered one of the best public aquariums in the U.S. It has both fresh and saltwater life on display.
