Summary[edit]

Description
English: Photographer Sal Marino in his garden, outside "Wallich's Photo Lab." Marino bought the store from the sons of a German immigrant named Alphonse Wallich in 1984. Today it is the only camera shop / photo lab left on Staten Island. Marino got his start as a professional photographer when he worked at Weitzmann's Photo Shop in the 1960s - in 2012 he continues to do shoots, using primarily Canon DSLRs. After Hurricane Irene flooded parts of the Catskills in 2011, Marino organized a food and clothing drive for the victims and was featured in a story that aired on NY1 (http://statenisland.ny1.com/content/top_stories/146308/staten-island-residents-rally-to-help-flooded-catskills).
