English: Tübingen, Germany: on a misty winter day in the well-known plane tree avenue (allée) on the island in the river Neckar.
Yes, this is a dreary photo, with the mist, the grey light and all the empty benches and waste bins (IIRC I have included the waste bins intentionally in the picture ;–). But that is how beautiful Tübingen often was in the Winter when I studied there; and yet there was some melancholical magic in that soft grey. Deutsch: Tübingen: nebeliger Wintertag in der Platanenallee auf der Neckarinsel. Ja, das ist ein tristes Foto, mit dem dünnen Nebel, dem trüben Licht und all den leeren Bänken und Mülleimern (soweit ich mich erinnere, habe ich die Mülleimer absichtlich mit aufs Bild genommen ;–). Aber so sah das sonst so reizvolle Tübingen eben oft im Winter aus, während ich dort studiert habe; und trotzdem war dieses weiche Grau irgendwie melancholisch schön. |
