English: U.S. Army Sgt. Kenneth Shanklinfeming a 19K “M1 Armor Crewman”, hammers in end connectors, a job known as “Walking Track,” while Sgt. James Marin, a 91H “Tracked Vehicle Mechanic,” waits his turn, May 12, 2015 at the Army’s Hohenfels Training Area, Germany. Sgt. Marin said that it usually takes over 300 whacks to set all the pins in place. Both Soldiers are assigned to 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, which is currently serving as an Army rotational force to Europe. A portion of the brigade is participating in exercise Combined Resolve IV in Hohenfels and Grafenwoehr, Germany, May 1 – June 26, 2015. Combined Resolve is a series of bi-annual U.S. Army Europe exercises designed to train participants to function together in a multinational and integrated environment and to train U.S. Army rotational forces in Europe to be more flexible, agile and better able to operate alongside allies and partners in the region. |
