Later this summer, Suvarnabhumi Airport will open in Thailand, replacing the 91 year old Don Muang International in Bangkok. Suvarnabhumi, meaning «Golden Land» is about 30 km east of Bangkok in an area known as Nong Ngu Hao, or «Cobra Swamp».

Description
English: Later this summer, Suvarnabhumi Airport will open in Thailand, replacing the 91 year old Don Muang International in Bangkok. Suvarnabhumi, meaning «Golden Land» is about 30 km east of Bangkok in an area known as Nong Ngu Hao, or «Cobra Swamp». The complex covers 32 square kilometers, and has the world's tallest control tower (132 meters). The passenger terminal has 360 check-in desks, 120 gates, and accommodations for handling 45 million passengers a year. Surrounding the airport are flooded rice paddies. The ASTER image was acquired February 4, 2006, covers an area of 34.3 x 41.4 km, and is centered near 13.7 degrees north latitude, 100.7 degrees east longitude.
