The Banaue Rice Terraces is one of the renowned National Cultural Treasures of the Philippines, not only known locally but also internationally because of its breathtaking beauty.

Summary

[edit]
Description
English: The rice terraces had been in the mountainous regions of Ifugao and northern Luzon for over 2

centuries. It soars around 1500 meters above sea level and it takes effort to see its beauty

because it is located in one of the remote parts of the Philippines; main island of Luzon. The

people of the Terraces have sustained its beauty by farming the area the same way their

ancestors carried it out for over a hundred years ago. However, there are threats that the

Banaue Rice Terraces face. The destruction of the rice terraces because of the natural calamity

and the continuous migration of the farmers to the cities hoping for better opportunities to

feed their families. Let us help conserve the heritage of one of the 8th Natural wonders of the

world, to not only see the Banaue rice terraces from photographs and textbooks but rather let

us put effort into the conservation of this natural treasure for the next generation, by conserving their cultural heritage and creating authentic tourist destination experiences. Bringing tourists and local communities together for mutual benefits for a sustainable tourism.
