NOTE: The original image for this was seriously flawed. I have replaced it as of 2:02pm mdt, March 22, 2019. Okay, here we go! This is the low resolution version (8,000x2,000) of the Big Kahuna Pano. It comes from 21 portrait-mode shots put together with PTGui Pro. The big version has 467 megapixels (42950x10884) and could be enlarged to make a 15 foot wide mural. The jpeg file size is almost 300 megabytes, which is why I’m posting the lo-res version here. If you want the full-resolution version, just let me know and we can work out a transfer method. What we have here is the 2019 Poppy Superbloom at Lake Elsinore, California. It’s located right off of Interstate 15, about five miles north of the village. I was there last Tuesday, arriving around 9:30 in the morning. The road (Walker Canyon road) was already filling up with cars. By the time I left, around noon, parking spaces were hard to find. There is some overflow parking nearby, but that fills up fast. So if you go, I recommend getting there early. Forget about going on a weekend. They closed the area last weekend when an estimated 50,000 people showed up.
