Title: Suiko Gate at Kitakanzan, Seoul (Known as Hongji-mun as well as Hanbuk-mun)

Date: ca. 1904

Place: Asia: South Korea; Seoul

Type: Postcards/Ephemera

Description: The water control gate at 'Pukhansan' (Pukhan Mountain) north of Seoul, controlling the intruders in the water of the stream. The actual construction is two-tiered: top the right the large building sits on top of the actual opening and closing mechanism, whereas the arches to the left are part of the regular river crossing.
