Theirspeed is 12 knots on the surface and8 knots when submerged. Their rangeof action is about 200 miles at 7 knots.The armament consists of one bow tubeand two holders, with four 18-inchWhitehead torpedoes. The comple-ment is nine officers and men. Francjaise Class.(Completed 1901-2.)Frangaise. Algdrien. These two vessels are of the improvedMorse type, and are intended solelyfor coast and harbour defence. Theirsurface displacement is 146 tons, andthey have electric engines of 350 h.-p.for both surface and submerged pro-pulsion, giving them a speed of 12 knotsand 8 knots an hour, respectively.Their surface radius is about 80 milesat 8 knots.
