Since the two parts of the plan togethercontemplate 45 weeks of school, there remain 7 weeks of vacation tocomplete the year. From the standpoint of both employers andemployees the most favorable time to interrupt the school work is atthe height of the busy season, when teachers and apprentices alikeare most needed in the productive work of the factories. The sevenweeks of vacation are divided, therefore, and three weeks are placedat the height of the spring season, and four weeks at the height of thefall season.
