Description |
English: Studies of an Elco-built launch, a store vessel, and a submarine The top centre sketch in grey wash is a port-bow view of an Elco-built motor launch of 1915-16. The same or another vessel of the same type is shown in watercolour, also bow on, lower right. To right, in diagrammatic plan, is a sketch of a vessel deploying two paravanes from the bow. Top left is a port-broadside view in pencil of a three-masted naval store carrier of collier, with port and starboard-quarter pencil views of the same vessel in the middle of the sheet. Just above these to the left is another penci sketch of a fast twin-funnelled naval vessel. The bottom watercolour image is of a Holland or A-class submarine grounded, probably deliberately to enable the hull to be inspected and cleaned, since that appears to be what is in progress. |
