| Description |
Nederlands: Profiel van de sterkte van de lithosfeer, volgens het Barce-Goetze-model. Er wordt uitgegaan van een "normale" geothermische gradiënt.
De diagrammen hebben op de assen de sterkte (σd, horizontaal, gelijk aan de differentiaalspanning) en de diepte (z, verticaal). Het eerste (linkse) diagram laat de individuele sterktes tegen verschillende soorten deformatie zien. De zwarte diagonale lijn is de sterkte van alle materiaal tegen brosse deformatie, De blauwe gekromde lijnen geven de sterkte van kwarts tegen ductiele deformatie en de groene gekromde lijnen de ductiele strekte van olivijn tegen ductiele deformatie. Ductiele curves zijn zowel voor hogere reksnelheden (verder naar rechts liggende curves) als lagere reksnelheden (de verder naar links liggende curves) geplot. De rode lijn is de Moho (Mohorovičić-discontinuïteit) tussen de korst (met een compositie dichter bij kwarts) en de mantel (met een compositie dichter bij olivijn). Het middelste profiel laat de totale sterkte zien bij lage reksnelheden, het rechtse profiel de totale sterkte bij hoge reksnelheden. Deze profielen volgen uit de individuele lijnen in de eerste (linkse) diagram. |
