Description
English: Stooks of Hay, Commondale. Traditionally these stooks would have stood until the church bells had rung twice (i.e. about a fortnight). They would then be leaded or loaded onto a waggon. A waggon in the North Yorkshire Moors averaged about fifty stooks.
