Description
English: This painting was painted by the American artist named American Artist. At the time it was painted, 2012 to 2013, the artist was known under a different name, which is no longer disclosed. One may consider the speculative death of the original author as an exchange in authorship. The image is an allegory of a personal narrative as seen by the artist, in which the exchange of romantic affection seems precarious. Despite the title of the painting, the relationship presented is hypothetical. As the artist anticipates a romantic exchange with their love interest, they suppose that the love interest will be overwhelmed by the psychological pressures native to the artist’s own mind. The basket—the psyche of the love interest—is broken by the amount of contemplation experienced by the artist (represented by a brain-like cabbage) as a symptom of the artist’s desire. To the extent possible under law, American Artist has waived all copyright and related or neighboring rights to Still Life w/ New Love Bearing The Obsessive Nature of My Affection and dedicated it to the Public Domain.
