Thephotograph on the right shows the effect of the light as it now is. It causes theface to assume a frightened expression. MAKING LINCOLN LOOK PLEASANT >TEW light is literally to be thrown on the countenance ofJ Abraham Lincoln, as it appears on the statue in the^ Lincoln Memorial at Washington. The present systemmakes the great Emancipator look scared, we are told in Light-ing Fixtures and Lighting (New York); but a slight adjustmentof illumination will improve matters.
