| Description |
English: This statue stands facing down Whitehall on the southern side of Trafalgar Square. King Charles I was beheaded on a platform in front of the Banqueting House in Whitehall on 30 January 1649. This equestrian statue of the king was sculpted in the 1630s before his death by Hubert le Sueur.
I took this photo from a Megabus open top double decker bus. The company is doing a special offer at the moment of £1 for a 2+ hour trip around London..You have to book online at Megabus but it is a great platform to take photos from..The bus doesn't always stop where you want it too. But i was the only person on the whole bus ( Apart from the driver ) which was an awesome opportunity to move about the upper deck taking photos. Because you are above the traffic you can cut out lots of vehicles and people from your images.and you are at a better level for photographing statues like this one |
