English: Rose Simmonds and unidentified child. Rose became a photographer after she started to use her husband's darkroom to develop photographs of her children. She was active in the Queensland Camera Club and her work was reproduced in the Australasian Photo Review between 1920 and 1932. Rose was elected an associate member of the Royal Photographic Society of London. She held a solo exhibition in Brisbane in 1941 and her work was exhibited widely with other members of the Queensland Camera Club. Her work had been commemorated in exhibitions at the Queensland Art Gallery, namely in Australian Women Photographers 1840-1960, and Queensland Pictorial Photography 1920 - 1950.
