Description
English: A now preserved Bristol VR, at the 2008 Alton Bus Rally.

Bus history:
The bus was ordered by Hants & Dorset, but the order was diverted by the National Bus Company so it started life in 1981 with the Bristol Omnibus Company, but by 1983 it had moved to Cheltenham & Gloucester. In December 1993 it came into the Stagecoach Group, after Cheltenham & Gloucester was purchased and became Stagecoach West. It was renumbered 231 in July 1994 and fitted with a new 6LXB engine in March 1996.

In February 2000, it moved Stagecoach subsidiary to Stagecoach South (via Stagecoach Coastline), and was given the fleet number 163. It ended up at the Stagecoach South Stagecoach in Hampshire division by April of that year. The bus was renumbered 15763 in January 2003 as part of the Stagecoach Group national numbering scheme. It was taken out of services in July 2004, and sold to a preservationist in November of that year. Since then, it has moved back to a place closer to its home area, and has been preserved with "Stagecoach in Stroud" fleetnames, even though is was sold from Stagecoach Hampshire's fleet.
