| Description |
Nederlands: Beschrijving Luchtfoto van Den Helder met de kruiser Sumatra aan de kade Bouwnummer 148, gebouwd op de werf van de Nederlandsche Scheepsbouw Maatschappij (N.S.M.), Conradstraat 151, in opdracht van het Departement van Marine. Op de foto de opbouw van de dubbele bodem. Hr. Ms. Sumatra werd bij de invasie op 9 juni 1944 tot zinken gebracht om te dienen als blokkadeschip bij de aanleg van de haven Quistreham, die overigens nooit tot ontwikkeling is gekomen. In februari 1951 werd de kruiser aan slopers verkocht en gelicht. |
