Church of St Michael Coslany, Norwich, Norfolk, mural monument to Ralph Smyth (1705-1772), Sheriff of Norwich in 1756. Text per Farrer, Edmund, Church Heraldry of Norfolk, Vol 3 (1893) Lynn, Norwich, Thetford, Yarmouth, p.87 [1]:

Tablet in the North Chapel, with coloured Shield: Per fesse indented or and azure, three goat's heads counter-changed (Smyth ?) impaling: Argent, on a bend engrailed ...., between two cotises gules three round buckles or (Case) (Arms of Case of Hayton, Lancashire (1664) (Burke, Sir Bernard, The General Armory, London, 1884, pp.174-5)): ‘’Argent, on a bend engrailed gules cotised sable three round buckles or’’. ; (The cotises should be sable). For Ralph Smyth, Esq., Major of the Eastern Battalion of the Norfolk Militia, Sheriff of the City 1756, died Sep. 28, 1772, in his 67th year. The Ingenuous, the Oenerous, the Honest Mind rests here. Mr. Ralph Smyth died Sep. 30, 1750, aged 60 ; Sarah his wife died Oct 5, 1750, aged 61
