| Description |
English: St. Nicholas Cliff Lift, Scarborough. One of five funiculars, or cliff lifts, built in Scarborough, of which four remained when this photograph was taken in 1995; since then, this and one other have succumbed, so that in 2018 just two remain. Contrast this image with this one, taken from a similar position in 2016, with the upper station and cars converted into a cafe, and the lower station into an ice-cream shop. |
