English: St.Martha's Church, St.Martha's Hill, Surrey A remote church, high up on the North Downs, and passed by the Pilgrims' Way.
A bitterly cold and windy day, with periods of sun; the latter being more in evidence after I left the location! Still, it was a vast improvement on my previous visit; August Bank Holiday 1986, when I was en route, from Winchester to Canterbury, on a 150 mile sponsored walk. The tail end of "Hurricane Charlie" hit our group about an hour before we reached this point, and we trudged on, in the wet, until the night stop, at Shere, was reached. St._Martha's_Hill |
