Description
English: Unknown date of this photograph.

The Springer Homestead or 'Springer Place' was located at the north end of Snider Road just north of Cloyne. It is near Springer Lake - a small lake to the southeast of Snider's Sand and Gravel (Highway #41). The homestead is now gone.
Andrew Snider (1901-1997) - a founding member of the Pioneer Club, states in The Oxen and Axe (can be obtained at the http://www.cloynepioneermuseum.ca online bookstore) he and his family moved into 'Uncle Joshua Snider's house which was near Dempsey's Cemetery. This house was later owned by Henry Springer, who married my father's niece and it became generally known as the Springer Place.'

Andrew and his family later moved up the hill a bit closer to Cloyne to be known as the Snider Farm.
