Spoon-winged lacewings - Chasmoptera sp Recently we visited Lake Deborah north of Bullfinch and found some exquisite Spoon-winged lacewings. We were able to observe them for a few hours. Their hind wings pump up and down as they fly. They can fly fast or slow in a fluttering fashion. The flight path is as a wave action. They are sometimes seen resting on the branches of the shrubs or perched on dried sticks on the ground. The females lay eggs in the sand.
