Description

Spectacled eider male and female on their nest at Yukon Delta National Wildlife Refuge. Spectacled eiders are sexually dimorphic, meaning the male and females have different appearances. The adult male is large with yellow-orange bills and bright white eye patches outlined in black. Females are a more understated brownish white with pale brown eye patches.
