Description

Konrad Witz. (Active in Basel from 1434 to 1445/46). The Annunciation to Mary, around 1440. Originally softwood, transferred to chopsticks in 1970. Konrad Witz ‘Annunciation takes place in a completely empty chamber, in which there is not even a pillow or a prayer desk for the Virgin. This is almost unique in the visual arts of the 15th and 16th centuries. In the front right, the real, wooden picture frame seems to cast a shadow into the picture itself. This testifies to wit ‘direct knowledge of the works of Jan van Eyck. who used this trick first. Nuremberg Germanic National Museum. The photo was taken with two color settings.

Deutsch: Konrad Witz. (Tätig in Basel um 1434 bis 1445/46). Die Verkündigung an Maria, um 1440. Ursprünglich Nadelholz, 1970 auf Stäbchenplatte übertragen. Konrad Witz‘ Verkündigung ereignet sich in einer gänzlich leeren Kammer, in der es nicht einmal ein Kissen oder ein Betpult für die Jungfrau gibt. Dies ist der Bildkunst des 15. und 16. Jahrhunderts beinahe einmalig. Vorn rechts scheint die reale, hölzerne Bildrahmen einen Schatten in das Bild selbst zu werfen. Dies zeugt von Witz‘ unmittelbarer Kenntnis der Werke Jan van Eycks. der diesen Kunstgriff zuerst anwandte. Nürnberg germanisches Nationalmuseum. Das Foto wurde mit zwei Farbeinstellungen aufgenommen.
