Notes | commemorative $10 banknote - Sesquicentenary of the signing of the Treaty of Waitangi and 1990 Commonwealth Games Auckland New Zealand's Sesquicentenary was commemorated in 1990. The 1990 Commission took a different approach to marking this significant anniversary, making it a commemoration rather than a celebration which had been the tenor of the previous Centenary. See Te Ara entry http-www.teara.govt.nz-en-anniversaries-page-5 The 1990 Games sought to showcase and celebrate the partnership of Maori and Pakeha. | |||||||||||||||||||||||
