English: This photo was taken while I was on AA Flight from Palm Beach Airport to Philadelphia Airport. This infrequent phenomenon is called a solar halo. This is when the Sun, light source, is positioned above plane at correct angle to cast a shadow on clouds below. If the conditions are right a 'halo' forms surrounding the shadow cast by the plane.
