Sitka Spruce (picea sitchensis) trees, which reach the height of 220 feet (70m) and diameter of 6 feet (2m), are found on moist, well-drained sites, typically at low to middle elevations. They are preferred tree for timber due to the light, strong, decay-resistant wood they produce.
