Description
English:
Sisters of Mercy School, Washington Boulevard and Pico Street, 1910
Photograph of front of the Sisters of Mercy School, 4050 Washington Boulevard at Pico Street, 1910. The small collection of four-story brick buildings has more than 20 dormer windows visible in this perspective. A cross sits at the apex of a spire over a square building at center. Trees and bushes dot the grassy lawn and hug the base of the buildings. The school is separated from the sidewalk in front by a low retaining wall. Streetcar rails run down the center of the street in the foreground. Two tall metal frame towers with guy wires are visible over the roof of the school in the background.
