DescriptionSinulog Festival Dancers 2.jpg |
English: The annual Sinulog festival in Cebu City, Philippines is a weeklong celebration of religious and cultural activities.
It has been observed for centuries by Filipinos converted to Christianity by Spanish missionaries les by Ferdinand Magellan last 1521. Throughout the years the celebration evolved into a festival and colorful offering of dancers depicting costumes of different tribes of the Philippines. Today, the highlight of the festival is the grand parade where a whole day of street dancing honoring the Santo Niño culminates on the feast day every third Sunday or January.
