Summary
[edit]DescriptionSinister abandoned village, Spain (33039076028).jpg |
The old village of Marmellar lies in the hills between Barcelona and Tarragona, in the Catalonia region of Spain. It was abandoned after the Spanish civil war, partly because it was not economic to continue farming the harsh landscape. Now there are crumbling homes (some quite big) and a church, which is also in ruins and which contains empty tombs. It that wasn't enough to make it interesting (or creepy) sadly some years after everyone left a newly-dead body was found here. The murderer was never found. To get here entails travelling over rough tracks for almost a mile as there is little reason for any economic activity to exist here. Consequently the area is very peaceful today. |
