Description
English: Sillitoe Court, Faraday Road These student flats are named after Radford's most famous son, the novelist Alan Sillitoe. Scenes of the film of "Saturday Night and Sunday Morning", starring Albert Finney as Sillitoe's anti-hero Arthur Seaton, were filmed in the area, including a sequence at the White Horse, at the corner of Faraday Road, which is shown in other photos nearby. Part of the Raleigh Cycle Factory was on Faraday Road. The photograph is taken from the end of St Peter's Street, at the crossroads where Ilkeston Road becomes Wollaton Road.
