Summary[edit]

Description
English: The Sigma AF 70-210mm 1:3.5-4.5 APO Macro is a late film-era zoom lens released in 1994 for all popular 35 mm SLR autofocus systems of the day. It has a 70 to 210 mm focal range of rotary design and minimum focus distance of 1.3 meters, and there is also a 1:2 macro mode at the 210mm position with a MFD of 0.75 meters. With the matched accessory lens, a maximum magnification of 1:1.1 and MFD of 0.51 meters can be achieved. The rotating front element is threaded for a 58 mm lens hood or filter. Weight comes in at about 620 grams with the reversible OEM lens hood, which attaches to the bayonet mount at the very front.

On Nikon bodies, the lens relies on the camera's in-body AF motor and consequently cannot autofocus on cheaper models in the D3xxx or D5xxx lineup. The D suffix specific to this version also signifies adherence to the AF-D standard for more accurate exposure in certain situations such as when using fill flash.
