Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Child and view of Prizren, known as the most beautiful town in Kosovo.
  • It has rich history, wonderful midevial monastiries and Othoman era mosques and bridges. Through centuries, many invaders came and left. An Othoman era canon left on the top of highest hill, nearby the basement of a very old castle, watches the town, divided in two parts by Bistrica river. It is one of many weapons left behind by the invaders.
  • Prizren is unique place. It is a town where different cultures, languages and beliefs intertwine each other. Albanians, Serbs, Bosniacs, Gorani, Turks, Roma, Terbeshi and other ethnic groups live together. It is common for this town that each of them speak language of others so during the convesations it is usuall for people to start a stentence in Turkish, continue it in Serbian and end it in Albanian.
  • Today, German soldiers that operate within KFOR take care for the safety of the people and the century valueable monuments of Prizren. The Othoman era canon remaining on the top of the Prizren hill, is there to remind people on the past of this town. Three years old, Sidrit Rama, playing around it is symbol of Prizren's future. There is peace, happiness and hope surrounding him!
