Summary[edit]

Description
English: The Shugart Associates Minifloppy 5.25 inch disk drive was introduced on August 27, 1976 and each diskette held 90 kilobytes of data. The diskettes were developed by Dysan Corporation and Information Terminals Corporation. The I.T.C. diskettes were sold under the Verbatim brand. Shugart brand diskettes were manufactured by Dysan and a box of 10 sold for $45. The model SA104 was soft-sectored format and the SA105 was hard-sectored (10 sectors per track).

Shugart Associates, Inc of Sunnyvale California trademarks.

The stylized "SA" logo was first used in commerce on July 20, 1973 and became a registered trademark on December 9, 1975. (Registration Number 1027032.) The "SA" trademark was cancelled on May 4, 1982.

The word mark "MINIFLOPPY" was first use in commerce on August 27, 1976 and became a registered trademark on June 21, 1977. (Registration Number 1068047.) The "MINIFLOPPY" trademark was cancelled on November 15, 1983.
