Summary[edit]
DescriptionShrub from San Diego Zoo.jpg |
English: Unidentified plant at the San Diego Zoo, California, USA. This image was identified by "sign" (probably the label) as Magnolia champaca, which is a misidentification for certain. Magnolia champaca never has serrated leaves, as this plant does. Moreover Magnolia leaves are never positioned like these but always alternate on a straight twig (or in some cases in false whorls but these plants, the Umbrella Magnolias, are easily identifiable as such). The "sign" must have been misplaced, or it belonged to another, nearby plant. |
