Summary[edit]

Description

Page 112 of brochure Seattle and the Orient (1900). This page consists of a text plus a photos captioned "Establishment of the Denny-Coryell Company." The building was at 1221 First Avenue, corner of University Street. Standing at this location in 2007, the Harbour Steps would be where this photo shows a street to the right; the Seattle Art Museum would be directly behind you.

The text on the page describes the Denny-Coryell Company as "the largest printing and stationery concern in the Northwest." It occupied two floors of the building. At the near corner of the building was a post office.

Signs visible on building say:

  • "Denny-Coryell Co."
  • "Stationers printers & blank book mfgrs."
  • (in window near corner) "US postoffice"
There is also an illegible sign in a ground floor window near the center of the building.
